At BB6 Defense, we solve problems before they happen, deliver results when it matters most, and thrive in high-stakes environments. We're building a team of mission-driven professionals who bring precision, agility, and expertise to the fight.

We are seeking a Solution Train Engineer to lead the coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of a complex technical Solution Train within a large-scale Agile, cyber-centric DoD environment. In this role, you'll facilitate Solution Train events, manage the flow of value across multiple Agile Release Trains, coordinate technical dependencies, and keep engineering teams, program leadership, vendors, and external cybersecurity organizations aligned. You'll also guide and coach Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters, technical leads, and other stakeholders in Lean-Agile and systems engineering practices.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Facilitate Solution Train execution and large-scale ceremonies, including Pre- and Post-PI Planning, Solution Demos, Inspect and Adapt events, Value Stream Syncs, and cross-train planning and coordination sessions.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Solution Train using Jira and Confluence.
  • Coordinate architectural alignment, technical interdependencies, capabilities, and integration activities across multiple Agile Release Trains and technical suppliers.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among engineering leads, Product and PMO representatives, vendors, external cybersecurity organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify, track, and resolve cross-team and cross-train impediments, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Monitor Solution Train performance and report clearly on delivery progress, technical dependencies, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on technical requirements, system interdependencies, architectural decisions, program risks, and delivery status.
  • Support alignment of technical strategy, solution intent, architecture, and implementation across the Solution Train.
  • Promote transparency and effective information flow across teams, trains, suppliers, and program leadership.
  • Engage directly with teams to understand their needs, coordinate support, and drive timely resolution of issues.
  • Guide, mentor, and coach technical leads, RTEs, Scrum Masters, and other Agile leaders in Lean-Agile systems engineering practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process improvements, facilitating retrospectives, and implementing actionable improvement plans.
  • Adapt Agile practices to support the needs of a complex, cyber-focused DoD program.
  • Partner with program leadership and stakeholders to keep delivery aligned with contractual, technical, security, and mission objectives.
What You Bring to the Fight

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 18 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's, 15 years with a Master's, or 20 years with a high school diploma or associate degree.
  • One of the following certifications: SAFe Solution Train Engineer (STE), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), or SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC).
  • Experience developing products and/or managing engineering activities in software, systems, or technical development environments.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex technical programs involving multiple Agile Release Trains, engineering organizations, or technical suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of Agile at scale, particularly SAFe, in a cyber-centric DoD program environment.
  • Experience supporting DoD contracts, military programs, or other government technology initiatives.
  • Background in cybersecurity, cyber operations, information assurance, or related security disciplines.
  • Experience facilitating large-scale planning, execution, synchronization, and continuous improvement events.
  • Experience with enterprise collaboration and program management tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering teams, program leadership, vendors, PMO personnel, and external cybersecurity organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, stay actively engaged, and drive issues to resolution.
Compensation: $150,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
